Twisted Yoga

Hot yoga.... I never learn.  Wednesday morning and I still feel like a truck ran over my body from Monday's hot yoga... I actually gained 2lbs because I have not stopped eating since I left this class. Literally not stopped! I ate half a pizza the second I walked in the door from class. I believe the incense they were burning had special properties to increase your hunger....

Grilled Ginger

Friday night in Fayetteville, North Carolina and the mission was on for fabulous food.  I had been told of a odd grouping of  business on Yadkin road that offered everything from clothing to Phad Thai to Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio (an amazing combination of pork, egg roll, shredded veggies, noodles, and spicy sauce)  Music man had gone to the movies with our son so it was just my daughter, her bf, my bf, and two toddlers..... The perfect medley for an across town, payday week-end Friday night trip for take-out!  As always my beloved Faytastic traffic was a challenge to be tackled with purpose.  Our critical care nurse training proved valuable once again as Leggs multi-tasked. The skill at which she wielded two cell phones in which to view and place a complicated order, navigate Bing maps, and answer several texts makes me proud that we both can say we are veterans of the valley.  Upon arrival to Grilled Ginger, it is in fact, a strip mall shaped in a U with several restaurants.  The other we immediately notice is called Orchid Garden.  Then the problems begin.... I must first caveat with this story is about USER ERROR.....  The users with error are of course myself and Leggs (seems impossible I know!) Our food was ready and waiting but.... Leggs had ordered Phad Thai at a Vietnamese establishment and in the confusion they thought she had said Pho Tai.  Grilled Ginger was phenomenal and suggested we get the Thai part of our order at the Orchid Garden. We paid for and recieved our Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio and Cah Gio.  This is why I love and stay in Fayetteville.  Families and restaurants like Grilled Ginger and Orchid Garden (who quickly whipped up some Phad Thai for Leggs and little bf even though they are a buffet).  Our food was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Even more than amazing food, we were wrong, we really made the mistake, but rather than have us pay for food we would have been unable to eat, Grilled Ginger sent Leggs where she could get what she really wanted.  Ironically, after trying my E7 Vietnamese...... Guess where we will be heading again?

Hot Yoga

I am tempted to once again try hot yoga.... Or should I say I am tempted to once again pay someone good money to fold myself into child's pose (my only "good"pose) for 60 minutes in a room full of incredibly gorgeous women. Did I happen to mention the room is over a bizillion degrees and while the goddess women fold themselves into glistening pretzels yours truly slips on puddles of sweat and becomes anoxic trying to suck in her gut? How can you maintain an inversion with your hair twisted artfully in a messy bun?!! Me, my hair is stuck in my eye, my mouth and I believe a chunk of my ponytail is actually under the lady's left foot in warrior pose next to me.....

Where my cupcakes go?

Where did the weekend go..... Why after such a fabulous weekend in Savannah am I now left with just a huge pink box of cupcake crumbs from one spectacular bakery?  I do have to sadly say that despite my huge approval of Back in the Day's vintage charm and fab staff......And for that alone unless I was doing a take out order I would stick to that bakery, the cupcakes are handstands better at Sweet Carolina's Cupcakes. Unbelievable I know....

Savannah Sunday

Trying to drag myself from this bed on our last day in Savannah..... I am literally still in a food coma. Yesterday we ate at Back in the Day Bakery (twice), Green Truck Pub, the Alligator Soul, and Parker's Market.  I also had to try the bread our sweet Christine left for us at our cute little third floor hide out across from the park.  What is on mind this morning though.... Coffee and FOOD!
