Grilled Ginger

Friday night in Fayetteville, North Carolina and the mission was on for fabulous food.  I had been told of a odd grouping of  business on Yadkin road that offered everything from clothing to Phad Thai to Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio (an amazing combination of pork, egg roll, shredded veggies, noodles, and spicy sauce)  Music man had gone to the movies with our son so it was just my daughter, her bf, my bf, and two toddlers..... The perfect medley for an across town, payday week-end Friday night trip for take-out!  As always my beloved Faytastic traffic was a challenge to be tackled with purpose.  Our critical care nurse training proved valuable once again as Leggs multi-tasked. The skill at which she wielded two cell phones in which to view and place a complicated order, navigate Bing maps, and answer several texts makes me proud that we both can say we are veterans of the valley.  Upon arrival to Grilled Ginger, it is in fact, a strip mall shaped in a U with several restaurants.  The other we immediately notice is called Orchid Garden.  Then the problems begin.... I must first caveat with this story is about USER ERROR.....  The users with error are of course myself and Leggs (seems impossible I know!) Our food was ready and waiting but.... Leggs had ordered Phad Thai at a Vietnamese establishment and in the confusion they thought she had said Pho Tai.  Grilled Ginger was phenomenal and suggested we get the Thai part of our order at the Orchid Garden. We paid for and recieved our Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio and Cah Gio.  This is why I love and stay in Fayetteville.  Families and restaurants like Grilled Ginger and Orchid Garden (who quickly whipped up some Phad Thai for Leggs and little bf even though they are a buffet).  Our food was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Even more than amazing food, we were wrong, we really made the mistake, but rather than have us pay for food we would have been unable to eat, Grilled Ginger sent Leggs where she could get what she really wanted.  Ironically, after trying my E7 Vietnamese...... Guess where we will be heading again?

  1. Super jealous that you got to go to Grilled Ginger. After discovering this hidden gem a few months ago, it has become one of my favorite restaurants in Fayetteville.
